The two CEMHTI groups involved in HEALTHYGLASS (“Materials and NMR” and “Materials and processing at high temperature: oxide glasses, glass forming, crystallization”) are internationally recognized in glass science by using state of the art characterization techniques, applied among others to silica-based compounds. The third CEMHTI group involved in HEALTHYGLASS is one of the main players in France for ions beam analysis in material science (RBS, NRA, ERDA).

The SURF group at CIRIMAT-INPT has a more than 35 years’ experience in the CVD of protective and/or (multi-)functional films. Coatings processing and characterization techniques involved in HEALTHYGLASS are already in the field of experience of the group.

The RTS group of CIRIMAT-UPS is expert on the development of multi-functional inorganic or                                                organic-inorganic hybrid coatings on various substrates mainly based on wet routes such as sol-gel                                                  process. The group has also developed an expertise in the field of mechanical and tribological                                                          characterization of coatings to probe the surface properties.

The CVD group at LGC has a more than 20 years’ experience on the engineering of CVD processes. Studies are conducted both experimentally by developing lab-scale reactors on planar or powder substrates, and theoretically by modelling the process behavior (local profiles of gas flow, temperature and gaseous concentration including the chemical reactions, local deposition rate and film composition).

SGD Pharma is the world leader of primary pharmaceutical glass packaging. The company produces molded and tubing vials using sodalime or borosilicate glasses, for preparations of both oral and injectable parenteral administration. SGD Pharma offers to its customers an expertise on the chemical durability of the glass and the interactions between glass surface and drug products. The company has a detailed knowledge of the recent studies on alkali ions leaching and glass surface delamination.

The consortium covers the requested expertise to successfully finalize the project. Common publications and patents have been produced among the partners. Pierre-Luc Etchepare, Brigitte Caussat and Constantin Vahlas shared the 2016 Innovation Price in the “Industrial partnership and transfer” category of the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse.
